CITY OF ASHES Review

*WARNING THE FOLLOWING DOCUMENT CONTAINS SPOILERS*

Let me just say that I loved this book more than “City of bones”.  This book had so much more emotion and breath taking moments that had me up at night thinking about it.  This second book gave us the oportunity to actually get to know the characters on a more personal level.  There were moments in the book that I actually wanted to get in the book and talk to them, hug them and especially kiss Jace.

I know this might sound mean but Simon got on my nerves during most of the book it wasn’t till the end that I actually got to understand him and get him. To be honest when I thought he was dead at the begining I was actually happy(sorry).  Simon kissing Clare made me want to vomit that was so disgusting. I did notice that Clare used too much description of Simon everytime he was mentioned in the book she used full description, his smell, his eyes, his glasses I was kinda getting sick of it.

Am in love with Jace his the kind of guy I would wanna date. The way he talked and acted made him sound older.  His the kind of guy that makes you want to save him and give him all the love he needs.    I could care less if he and Clary are family whatever this is a sciencefiction book so let them be in love and be happy who cares.  They had so many good scenes. Omg!!! The scene with the fairies that scene will forever live in my memories I actually could feel the heat while I was reading it.  The other scene I liked a lot was the one when Jace came out of the bathroom and had the most amazing confession with Clary that chapter had me almost crying.  In reality I loved every part of the book that Clary and Jace where together even if they were just looking at each other.

The ending was kind of confusing, I just know that if Jace would’ve let Clary talked first she would’ve confessed her love for him. Damn ittt!! But it’s ok will just have to wait for the other book.

In conclusion the book was amazing.  Cassandra Clare is an amazing author I love the way she manages to put a lot of scarsm in her writing. She also manges to incorporate a lot of incredibule quotes which was beautiful.  This book gets 5 stars!!! Go read it!!!

  1. I share each ans every sentiment you expressed here! And my girlfriends and I (yeah, we’re ALL grownups) LOVE this series and keep up with the cookies that Cassie puts out. Did you see the latest one?!?!?!?!?!!?!?!

SPOILER – CITY OF GLASS EXCERPT BELOW * Anyway….the below was posted from Cassie herself to her google group it is short but Oh So Good: Clary drew his hands away from her body, and held them, trapped
between her palms. He could have pulled away if he’d wanted to, but he
didn’t; he just looked at her. His face was flushed, his mouth set,
his eyes darkened to a hard metallic gold.
“Please, Jace,” she said. “Please, don’t.”
Her hands were trembling; she knew he could feel it. If he kissed her
again, it would be all over. She would do whatever he wanted.
